# Ad activity & data

> **Title:** Ad activity & data — Rival Ads Docs
> **Description:** Read started, stopped and continued ad activity in Gallery, Board or Table and understand the fields available from each source.
> **Canonical URL:** https://www.rivalads.io/docs/ad-data
> **Note:** This is the markdown twin of https://www.rivalads.io/docs/ad-data. Append `.md` to any Rival Ads page URL to get markdown.

Open a monitor and select **Ads** to reach **Ad activity**. Choose a period, view and filters to answer questions such as “What launched this week?”, “Which video ads stopped?” or “What has kept running for a month?”

## Periods and statuses

Choose **Day**, **Week** or **Month**. Rival Ads places each ad into one status for that period:

- **Started** — the ad began during the selected period.
- **Stopped** — the ad stopped during the selected period.
- **Continued** — the ad was already running before the period and continued through it.

Long-running ads can be useful evidence of durable messaging, but public ad libraries do not provide conversion results or spend. Continued does not prove profitability.

## Views

- **Gallery** is the visual browsing view. Use it to scan creative quickly.
- **Board** separates Started, Stopped and Continued into columns.
- **Table** is the compact comparison view with sortable facts and actions.

The same filters apply across the views: **Location**, **Status**, **Run time** (ads live at least 7, 15, 30, 90, 180 or 365 days, the fastest way to surface proven creatives), **Ad type** and, when creative intelligence is available, **Angle**. An ad with no known start date never matches a run-time preset; its run is unknown, not zero. Meta monitors add a **Reach** filter and a **Highest reach** Gallery sort; LinkedIn monitors add an **Impressions** filter and a **Most impressions** sort, built on the impression range LinkedIn itself publishes for every ad - an ad only matches a minimum its published range guarantees. In Gallery you can also sort by **Longest running**.

A search box sits beside the filters and reads everything Rival Ads has on each ad - copy, video transcript, on-screen text and the intel read - with `-term` exclusions and quoted phrases; see [Search & saved views](/docs/search). Filters and search ride the page URL, so a filtered board is a link you can send, and the **Views** button saves the current combination as a named view for the whole workspace.

## What an ad can show

The source determines which fields are available. A card can include:

- Creative artwork or a visual preview.
- Exact ad copy, headline and call to action.
- Start and stop dates.
- Image, video, carousel or text type.
- Landing page or display domain.
- Variants, published reach (Meta EU/UK) or the published impression range (LinkedIn) when the source reports it.
- **Download creative** and **Open in source library** actions.
- A **New** label until you review a newly discovered ad.

Not every source publishes every field. Rival Ads shows the evidence that is available and does not invent missing performance figures.

## Locations

A monitor can query up to five locations. Use **Location** to switch between the monitored results or see the combined view. The first location selected during setup is the default. An ad keeps the language supplied by its source.

## Saved ads and intelligence

Select **Save** to add an ad to the workspace [Library](/docs/library). Select **Intelligence** to open its hook, angle, persona, transcript or on-screen text when available. See [Creative intelligence](/docs/creative-intelligence) for how those fields differ from a strategy read.

## Media and source links

Where the source allows it, Rival Ads keeps a durable copy or representative preview so the visual remains useful after the source listing changes. **Open in source library** is the best way to inspect the source’s current public record. A source may later remove or restrict that record.
