What Microsoft's Ad Library covers

Microsoft Ad Library is a free public archive of ads shown on Bing in European Union and European Economic Area countries. An advertiser can be based anywhere; it is the location of the impressions that determines whether the ads appear.

It is not a worldwide account of a competitor's Microsoft advertising. An empty result does not prove that a company has stopped advertising in the US, UK, South Africa or another market outside the EU/EEA.

Find the right advertiser

Search the advertiser name or words from the ad copy. Check the returned advertiser identity before reading its ads. A verified advertiser may group more than one advertising account under the same identity.

Once you have found the advertiser, keep their advertiser URL. For example, adlibrary.ads.microsoft.com/advertiser/4295406264 identifies Pam Golding Properties. Paste that URL into Rival Ads to track the same identity, then choose the EU/EEA countries you want to monitor.

Read the evidence with its limits

Microsoft publishes representative ad copy, destination links, available creative assets, first/last shown dates and EU/EEA impression ranges. Dynamic ads can have multiple variations; the version shown is a representative creative, not a record of every combination served.

Microsoft may publish impressions 1–3 days later. A last-shown date is the latest eligible impression reported by the archive, not confirmation that a campaign was switched off. Rival Ads checks a seven-day activity window separately in each monitored country. The ad detail dates describe the whole EU/EEA, not country-specific first or last impressions.

The archive does not reveal a competitor's spend, clicks or conversions. Impression ranges and targeting information help explain where an ad appeared; they do not establish its profitability.

Microsoft Ad Library questions

Do I need a Microsoft account?+

No. The public Ad Library and its standard API access work without signing in. Higher API limits require Microsoft Advertising credentials.

Can I research ads outside Europe?+

The library records EU/EEA impressions only. You can research an advertiser based elsewhere when it serves ads in those countries, but the archive does not show its worldwide advertising.

Does Microsoft provide an Ad Library API?+

Yes. Its official public API supplies advertiser lookup, ad copy, destinations, assets and dates. Rival Ads uses it directly; no Microsoft login or browser scraping is needed for this collection path.

Can Rival Ads monitor these ads?+

Yes. Search the advertiser in Research or paste their Microsoft Ad Library advertiser URL into Track a competitor. Choose EU/EEA locations; one competitor on Microsoft Ads uses one monitor slot.

Keep a record of what changes.

Track the advertiser in Rival Ads to archive its available creative and copy, compare successive reads, and receive alerts and strategy reports alongside your other monitored platforms.

Rival Ads tracks competitors on Meta, Google, TikTok, LinkedIn, Microsoft Ads and Pinterest. Microsoft Ads coverage is limited to EU/EEA impressions. Pinterest covers the countries offered by its repository, including the EU, Brazil, Norway and Türkiye. Plans start at $29/month.
