Build a swipe file

This workflow turns live competitor research into a reusable team or client brief.

1. Decide on a folder structure

Create folders around the decision your team needs to make, not just the source. Examples:

  • Hooks
  • Offers
  • Testimonials
  • Product demos
  • Client A — Q3 brief

Open Library, then select New folder. If folders already exist, select Manage folders, enter New folder name, and select Add.

2. Find useful ads

Open a monitor and select Ads:

  1. Choose Week or Month.
  2. Use Gallery for visual scanning.
  3. Filter by Status, Ad type or Angle.
  4. Open Intelligence when you need the hook, transcript or on-screen text.

A useful research set usually mixes new tests with long-running examples rather than assuming every Started ad is important.

3. Save and sort

Select Save on an ad. Choose the destination folder or create a new one with Create folder and save.

When an ad is already saved, select Saved to move it between folders or Remove from library.

The Library is shared. A teammate sees the change immediately if they also have permission to see the source monitor.

4. Review the collection

Open Library and choose:

  • A folder to focus the view.
  • All ads to see the complete swipe file.
  • Unsorted to find saved ads that still need a home.

Ads remain grouped by competitor inside the chosen filter, making it easier to preserve context.

5. Export a brief

For the relevant competitor group:

  • Select Artwork for creative files only.
  • Select Artwork + copy sheet for creative files plus CSV and Markdown reference sheets.

The copy sheet contains available ad copy, hook, angle, persona, call to action, dates and source links. Use the CSV for analysis or the Markdown file as a starting point for a written brief.

Its headings and category labels use the monitor’s client-facing language. Verbatim competitor evidence stays in its original language.

Folder cleanup

Use Manage folders to rename a shared folder. Deleting a folder returns its ads to Unsorted; it does not remove them from the Library.
